Recreational enthusiasts have a new destination for outdoor gear, apparel and footwear. Sierra Trading Post opened in Cottonwood Heights on May 19 at 6983 S. 1300 East (nestled between Cafe Rio & Trader Joe's). In addition to offering amazing savings on well-known brand names, customers can expect an exciting retail shopping experience at the new Cottonwood Heights location.

“Sierra Trading Post offers product for anyone who, like us, is an everyday explorer,” said Sierra Trading Post President Ken Walter. “We’re thrilled to offer everyone on the Wasatch Front product from great brands at amazing value and help them discover more of what life has to offer.”

With more than 17,000 square feet of retail space and a beautifully designed store layout, Sierra Trading Post provides more than 3,000 quality brands. The company is passionate about helping customers explore the world at an affordable cost.

As part of the grand opening celebration, Sierra Trading Post contributed $5,000 to Splore, a local nonprofit group that empowers people of all ages and abilities to enjoy outdoor adventures.

The Wyoming-based retailer opened its first Utah location in Cottonwood Heights due to its proximity to the mountains, outdoor recreation and the active lifestyle of residents in the Salt Lake Valley. Other Sierra Trading Post stores can be found in Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Vermont and Wyoming.

“Cottonwood Heights it the perfect location for Sierra Trading Post,” says Cottonwood Heights CED Director Brian Berndt. “With access to Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons, plus nearby hiking and biking trails, outdoor enthusiasts have the best of all worlds.”
