Wasatch Boulevard Improvements Coming this Summer

UDOT has received funding to make improvements to Wasatch Boulevard this summer.  UDOT plans to widen the roadway a few feet into the existing shoulder to accommodate bicycle lanes.

Bicycle lanes will extend from the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon to the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon, on both sides of the street.

This stretch of roadway has a very high bicycle traffic volume. The improvements will be a great amenity and safety enhancement for the city.

Additionally, the steep, eroding hill above the intersection at Fort Union Union Boulevard will also be improved to prevent rocks from falling onto the road.

Finally, the entire roadway will receive a well-needed overlay. Work is expected to begin in June.
